Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design surveys

Officer Jeff Garton will conduct a walk-thru of your property (commercial or residential) and provide suggestions as to how you can make your property safer for yourself, employees or customers.  She will provide you with a detailed report – at NO CHARGE.  Please call 210-7262 and ask for a sergeant or Officer Garton to schedule an appointment.

K-9 Program (click to go to the K9 page)

On November 1, 2004 the Town of Madison's first K-9 team hit the streets!!  Through the generous donations of many businesses and individuals the Town of Madison Police Department was able to start our K-9 program without any funds from taxes, all costs have been paid through donated funds.  The police department will continue to collect donations for the K-9 program.  We have budgeted $5,000  per year for our costs; our intent is to raise this money through donations and continue to fund this program completely through private donations.

Officer Pucillo and his partner Brando have been busy training and working.  Officer Pucillo and Brando work 7:00 p.m. - 3:00 am.  They are available to Town of Madison Neighborhood Associations for demonstrations and visits, please contact Sgt. Wayne Stolpa at 210-7230 if you are interested.

Neighborhood Officer

Each Town of Madison Police Officer will respond to any community concerns.  Due to a staffing shortage we do not currently have one officer dedicated to Neighborhood Policing.  If your neighborhood or organization has concerns please call the Town of Madison Police Department at 210-7262 and talk with a supervisor.  We can schedule an officer to attend Neighborhood meetings and answer any questions you may have.

Robbery Prevention Training

Specially trained officers will provide your employees with necessary information about what to do to prevent robberies and what actions your employees can legally take.

Shop with a Cop

The Town of Madison Police Department works with other area police departments and private businesses to provide Christmas presents for a number of families each year.  We joined Dane County's Shop With A
Cop program in 2004 with  4 children.  This year (2007) we sponsored 5 children.  Please click here to view our 2007 Shop With a Cop Page, including our Sponsors.
